Buy a sewing machine and learn to sew enough to hem pants and repair clothes
My mom didn't really do anything domestic, so I've had to learn it all as I go - cooking, cleaning, etc. Sewing is one I haven't picked up yet, and I really wish I knew enough at least to hem and repair. I can probably get a secondhand machine on craigslist or else get one of the little ones made for the non-domestic types like me.
